What You'll Do/Need

 Position Responsibilities: 

  • Manages the acquisition due diligence process, which includes:
    • Leads due diligence calls;
    • Guides, reviews, and assists in the financial modeling process;
    • Prepares materials for the CEO to facilitate key decision making and negotiations with a given seller (i.e. one-pagers, due diligence summaries, etc.);
    • Strategically communicates with key contacts at the appropriate municipalities throughout due diligence;
    • Serves as the day-to-day Bedrock point of contact for seller(s) and broker(s);
    • Ensures that key deadlines are met and that a transaction is successfully moving along within such timeline(s);
    • Communicates key deal points to the applicable Bedrock leadership team members;
    • Maintains Bedrock due diligence process and updating the same as necessary
  • Works with the Acquisitions Team on finalizing acquisition memos and tracking sheet for internal circulation
  • Sources and evaluates potential acquisition targets, and recommending a course of action along with a property valuation to the CEO and VP of Acquisitions
  • Gathers property and market specific information using a variety of resources including, Costar, Motor City Mapping, and similar databases
  • Provides guidance to Acquisitions Associate and managing his/her priorities
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with brokers and other Landlords/Sellers in a given community to assist in sourcing new deals
  • Facilitates negotiations and developing strategies to successfully close transactions



Position Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics or related; a Master’s Degree is preferred
  • 3-5 years of experience in real estate acquisitions and financial analysis, private equity, real estate investments or investment banking
  • Interest and passion for urban planning and transforming industrial-age cities
  • Ability to think strategically, synthesize business data and develop innovative and holistic business solutions that are forward thinking and growth oriented
  • Relates well to others, builds rapport, and effective relationships, uses tact, can diffuse high-tension situations. Can also be tough minded in a constructive way. Can get things done within the formal and informal corporate structure(s)
  • Ability to effectively partner in the development and execution of business strategies
  • Uses strong analytical capabilities and a fact-based approach to develop effective solutions to business issues
  • Ability to effectively partner in the development and execution of business strategies
  • Strong multi-tasking and prioritizing abilities while being nimble and adaptable
