What You'll Do/Need

  • Working with minor supervision from senior BAT leadership, responsibilities include: 
    • Interior Design:
      • Practice interior design in a non-traditional architecture studio embedded within a fast-pace real estate company
      • Originates and develops exceptional design concepts and design documents during all design phases from pre-acquisition programming to post-acquisition design to lifecycle maintenance. Work may include all disciplines of interior design including retail, office, multifamily residential, and hospitality.
      • Generates cohesive interior design arguments through graphical, written, and verbal means
      • Leads the generation of project presentations and documents with limited oversight from senior BAT leadership
      • Comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents, data, and financial information into graphic narratives appropriate to different audiences
      • Anticipates project-specific requirements and responds with appropriate solutions with limited oversight from senior BAT leadership
      • Drafts workflow, processes, and quality control metrics for completing complex tasks on time with consistently exceptional results
      • Organizes, manages, and leads multiple interdisciplinary working groups from project inception to implementation
      • Oversees project delivery including delivery insurance, installation, and quality assurance.
      • Ensures consistency of design, graphic, and verbal communications across projects 
      • Successfully leads multiple projects at the same time that may include:
        • Traditional interior design projects that may include retail, office, multi-family housing, and hospitality, both in new construction and adaptive-re-use contexts.
        • Existing building analysis, asset position, and strategic vision
        • Projects adjacent to traditional interior design projects, which may include wayfinding, environmental graphics, and residential staging.
      • Knowledgeable in current industry standards related to products, materials, and systems. Must take initiative to actively engage with the industry at-large to keep up-to-date on emerging design trends and technology available in the marketplace, and communicate these trends to the BAT.
      • Establishes and manages relationships with product, material, and system reps to ensure the most current and appropriate products, materials, and tools are available for Bedrock Architecture Team use.
    • Design Discourse:
      • Comfortable in presenting entire design project presentations to project stakeholders, Bedrock leadership, and FOC leadership and able to answer questions with authority and confidence
      • Articulates and actively manages design discussions specific to project design vision
      • Able to facilitate project and non-project specific discourse, project escalation, conflict and concerns
      • Actively authors and leads BAT team discussions in projections, project meetings, off site retreats, etc
      • Authors and leads team members in BAT initiative and implements a work plan for following through with initiative.
      • Able to present BAT initiatives to Bedrock leadership, external stakeholders, and funders in order to gather consensus.
    • Multidisciplinary Collaboration:
      • Understands and capitalizes on complete real estate development processes beyond interior design sector, including roles of complementary teams, both internal and external.
      • Excels in a range of collaborative roles from leading multi-consultant project teams, to smaller advisory roles.
      • Presents project updates and communicates project vision to other Bedrock teams, key stakeholders and Bedrock leadership  
      • Collaborate with senior executives to implement Bedrock’s standard processes, templates, and design tools to support the definition of all development projects that will be leveraged by real estate project managers and the executive team
      • Prioritizes the project pipeline and assigns project timelines/ objectives based on leadership and stakeholder needs
      • Understands multi-disciplinary industry trends and implements accordingly to projects and processes
      • Understands (and seeks to improve) complete real estate development process from acquisitions to stabilized asset management
    • Leadership:
      • Able to manage BAT project team and project working groups with little oversight from BAT senior leadership
      • Able to develop project teams, improve workflow processes, and train/ mentor new or younger team members
      • Understands the importance of and implements quality control measures as established by both BAT leadership and Bedrock standards
      • Able to draft agendas and lead project working group and stakeholder meetings
      • Independently communicates with external consultants, stakeholders, and FOC leadership in emails, meetings, and phone calls
      • Provides proactive guidance, review, feedback, and design leadership for all projects, including those with external consultants
      • Represents the Bedrock Architecture Team (and Bedrock) to external stakeholders and industry leaders through advocacy, research, and publication
      • Seeks to grow the BAT range of services to meet business objectives across company sectors
      • Seeks to develop hypothesizes for brand improvement and growth within company sectors.
      • Organizes, manages, and leads multiple managerial teams across a specified services sector within the Architecture Team
    • Software Skills must include mastery (able to teach others) in:
      • 3d modeling
      • CAD
      • Adobe creative suite
      • Integration of drawing creation processes using multiple softwares
      • Excel, Word, Office Suite
      • Project management tools, such as Trello and Bluebeam
    • NDCIQ Certification preferred, but not required.
    • Additional professional associations preferred including LEED AP
