What You'll Do/Need

Job Summary

This position will support the Bedrock Construction Team from the Project Manager through and including the Vice President; and will require analytical and mathematical skills, quick thinking and a solid understanding of the main principles of engineering, construction and architecture.

 

Reports To:  VP of Construction

 

Essential Functions

  • Analyze and resolve field construction issues
  • Review/summarize city ordinances, codes, etc.
  • Summarize documents – specs, drawings, proposals, etc.
  • Respond to Owner information as required by RFIs
  • Maintain project files
  • Review schedule with CM for compliance
  • Maintain thorough understanding of contract documents
  • Review meeting minutes for job meetings for accuracy
  • Project photos as requested
  • On-site project visits, as necessary, and reporting of schedule and work completion status
  • Secure complete close out documents at conclusion of projects from CM, Architects and others
  • Participate in punch list development and follow up for completion
  • Ability to oversee small construction projects
  • Review of reporting by CM
  • Assists in expediting progress of projects in every way possible
  • Communicates with Architects, Engineers, Construction Managers and Tenants on construction-related issues
  • Other duties as assigned by Construction team leaders

Job Qualifications

  • Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent construction related experience required
  • Ability to read, understand and summarize trade documents including drawings and specifications
  • Understanding of construction industry processes including cost estimating, planning, scheduling, materials procurement, cost control and quality management
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a resourceful approach
  • The ability to follow direction and follow a project to completion
  • Ability to work with urgent deadlines, flexible priorities and manage multiple team leaders
